Gluten free at Burger 21 is easy peasy. Their menu is well-marked with all of the “gluten friendly” options. Burger 21 words it that way because they don’t have a dedicated gluten free kitchen. They seem to pay attention to the details. I like that:-)
I know it is a burger place, but I have to start with the fries. The skinny fries and sweet potato fries are gluten free at Burger 21. I never have to worry about cross-contamination because they have a separate fryer. Whoop! Whoop! That being said, now that they have over 25 locations I would check to be sure that they have a dedicated fryer at the location you are ordering from. They have awesome gluten free sauces too! Not just ketchup for dipping at Burger 21. My favorite combo is the sweet potato fries with the Ragin Cajun sauce. Yumm!
They also serve cooked-to-order burgers, fresh salads and creamy shakes. I love the shakes!!! The burgers and grilled chicken can be served on a gluten free bun (that is good too). They have a kids menu with gluten free grilled cheese as well as gluten free burgers and salad options.
I have only eaten gluten free at Burger 21 in the Tampa area. Since they now have many locations across the US, I have also added them in to my favorite Allergy Friendly Franchise Restaurants list. In my experience the staff has always been great with answering questions about food allergies and how they prepare their food. I hope you have the same experience!
