At Home With Shay

Don Cesar Hotel (St. Pete Beach, FL)

You won’t have any problem finding something gluten free at the Don CeSar Hotel in St. Pete Beach, Florida. They have several restaurants on site.  You can choose from poolside bites to upscale dining.  All of the menus are clearly labeled with gluten free offerings. They can also make adjustments on some items to accommodate your food allergies.  It is what you would expect from a high end hotel- although I’ve learned the hard way that “high end” doesn’t always mean they take care of food issues well.

My husband and I went to the Don CeSar to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary.  We sat near the pool and had appetizers and drinks from the Beachcomber Bar and Grill.  Then we went inside to the Sea Porch Cafe for dinner.  They allowed us to bring in a sentimental bottle of wine from home and kept it chilled while we were out by the pool.  That made our night!

For dinner, we had the Grilled New York Strip steak which was cooked perfectly medium rare.  The Broccolini was also exceptionally delicious with it’s balsamic reduction and lardons of bacon.  Yummm!!! Their regular menu didn’t have any gluten free desserts, so they brought us ice cream from Uncle Andy’s Ice Cream Parlor! They truly catered to us the entire evening and made our time there an awesome memory.  There was certainly no problem being gluten free at the Don CeSar Hotel.

If you have time for a nightcap (we did), stop by the Lobby Bar for a drink before you go.  Their expert mixologists make some wonderfully unique cocktails, craft beer and a great wine list;-)  They have light bites to eat if you haven’t filled up by then!

Great service, drinks and gluten free deliciousness with a fantastic view of the Gulf of Mexico, what more could you ask for?
