*The chocolates will remain dark and shiny for about 2-3 days, then the cocoa butter from the chips will start to show through and they will have the “white-ish” coating that chocolate chips usually have. This won’t make them taste bad, they just won’t look as pretty. The way to prevent this from happening would be to use a better variety of chocolate and to temper the chocolate. Since that is more time consuming, takes a higher skill level and a candy thermometer, I didn’t feel that was necessary for this recipe. Plus, I wanted my kids to be able to make them too:-)
