Bartaco (West Hartford, CT)
Taco Tuesday? Bartaco is the place to be for allergy friendly and gluten free tacos. I LOVE these tacos! They make everything is so fresh and flavorful. Bartaco has creative combinations of meat, fish and veggies with fresh sauces. Bartaco isn’t serving up your typical tacos though. Once you have tried the Roasted Duck in Tamarind Sauce taco or the Glazed Pork Belly in Spicy Arbol Chili Sauce taco, you’ll be hooked!
All of the tacos are served in gluten free corn tortillas or you can swap it for bibb lettuce. There are plenty of sides, bowls and other non-taco options that will fill you up as well. Bartaco serves fantastic fresh guacamole, pork tamales and Ceviche made with fresh fish, cilantro and lime (reminds me a little of my Coconut Lime Shrimp Ceviche), just to name a few of the options.
Most of the menu is gluten free and nut free, and they have quite a few vegetarian options too. The menu is clearly labeled with allergens, so you can’t go wrong when ordering (although I always ask the server to be extra sure).
Bartaco is now in 8 states! Of course this means that I have also added them to my Allergy Friendly Franchise Restaurants list. I have only been to the delicious West Hartford, CT location.
