Sausages & Meatballs

There are several brands that make gluten free sausages and meatballs that are fantastic.  My gluten free, allergy friendly favorites are Aidells and Al Fresco because they don’t have a bunch of ingredients I can’t pronounce, they taste great and are easy to find in stores.  All of the products they make are fully cooked too.  At least all of the products that were on their websites at the time I am writing this, that is.

I love Aidells products because I can make a gluten free, allergy friendly weeknight meal in a snap with them!  Of course the sausages and meatballs taste great too!  That is a given.  They offer several flavor combinations so my family never gets bored from eating them.  Chicken and apple has just the right amount of sweetness and you can always get a spicy kick from the Habanero if you wish!  Many of the flavors are dairy free and they don’t use artificial ingredients. I just heat them up in a frying pan or microwave, make a veggie side and some rice or gluten free pasta and dinner is done!  Or try adding Aidells Italian meatballs to my Pesto Zoodles for a grain free Italian dish.

In addition to their regular sausages, my family also loves the breakfast sausages and breakfast patties by Al Fresco.  They are fully cooked, so we just heat and serve for a quick breakfast.  All varieties are made with chicken (not that we have anything against pork), but they are wonderfully flavored like pork sausages.  The breakfast patties are nicely sized for making egg, cheese and sausage sandwiches.  Put it all on a Glutino’s gluten free English muffin, which just happens to be another one of my favorites.

My 9 to 5… I am a meteorologist for the ABC station in Tampa. When I am at home, I spend a lot of time cooking and baking... always gluten free. Most of my recipes are allergy friendly and many are AIP, Vegan, Paleo and Keto friendly. From my kitchen to yours... cheers to eating great no matter what we must go without!
