Fresh Bites (Westchase, FL)

Almost the whole menu is gluten free at  Fresh Bites in Westchase, Florida (suburb northeast of Tampa).  Fresh Bites is a casual Lebanese eatery that serves up gluten free, vegetarian and allergy friendly dishes.  They use simple, fresh and mostly organic ingredients.  It all comes together to make some amazing options like gluten free falafel, fresh fish, chicken shawarma, mudardara, grilled vegetables and beef kabobs.  The owners told me that the recipes they use in their restaurant are the same they use to make meals at home.  This little neighborhood restaurant is a real gem. 

Almost everything on the menu is gluten free.  They have a lot of vegetarian options and everything is clearly marked on the menu.  I love the gluten free lamb kabobs from Fresh Bites.  I dip them in their house-made hummus and garlic sauce. Yummm!!!! I don’t know how they make their salad dressing, but it keeps me craving it for days on end.  Their gluten free mudardara (a lentil dish with fried thinly sliced onions on top) is a perfect blend of flavors and textures, I just love it!  Their hummus is unbelievably creamy and unlike anything you buy in the grocery store.  I could go on and on!  

Oh!  Did I mention that they fry their own potato chips?  They do!  In a dedicated fryer with coconut oil.  So they are gluten free and allergy friendly.  The owners are always there and happy to answer questions about what is in all of their food and how they prepare it.
