Bourbon Laced Whipped Cream

feature image

Topping a dessert with this Bourbon Laced Whipped Cream is a fantastic way to add another layer of flavor.  It is one of my favorite ways to make a dessert unexpectedly extra special.  Just by looking at it, you’d never know how different it tastes.  Then you take a bite and the sweet, creamy and boozey flavor hits you.  The smile appears and you know you’ve knocked their socks off with this one.

I especially like it on holiday desserts like my gluten free Spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake, Apple Crisp or even Carrot Cake Make Ahead Oatmeal and Gluten Free Enormous Waffles.  It isn’t shabby floating on top of a mug of hot chocolate or Irish coffee either;-)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 Tbsp bourbon
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whip heavy cream and bourbon at your mixer’s highest speed. Gradually add powdered sugar, slowing the speed as you do so that it doesn’t fly everywhere. Once incorporated, increase the speed again and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
  • Keep chilled until ready to serve. It can be stored for 3 to 4 days covered in the fridge.
