Blue Plate Kitchen (West Hartford, CT)

You are going to get satisfying modern comfort food and plenty of options that are gluten free at Blue Plate Kitchen in West Hartford, CT.  Located in a shopping plaza, the restaurant may not strike you as a hot dining spot. However, the food definitely stands out for it’s quality, freshness and taste.  Great fish, vegetarian, and meat options are all on their gluten free menu. 

Since my husband and I usually eat out with our kids, it helps that they are kid friendly too! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we have only been there for dinner.  We’ve eaten there and ordered take out several times and our family has never been disappointed.  My favorite dish on the menu is the gluten free Argentinian Steak.  It is served with a red and green Chimichurri sauce that adds a fresh punch of flavor.  It also comes with Brussels Sprouts with kale and local apples.  Mmmm… delicious.  

I haven’t mentioned the cocktails!  There is a long list of craft cocktails, fine wines and beer to quench your thirst.  As for allergy friendly and gluten free dessert, we usually get an ice cream sundae.  Yummm…
