SoSoBa (Flagstaff, AZ)

I had some great gluten free noodles at SoSoBa in Flagstaff, Arizona.  They boiled the gluten free noodles in a separate pot for us, so no need to worry about cross-contamination that way.  Everything we ordered from the cocktails to the food was incredibly tasty, fresh and filling.

The gluten free noodles they serve at SoSoBa are rice noodles.  They cook them perfectly so they aren’t slimy or mushy.  Their broths are super flavorful.  We had a bowl with a drool worthy piece of pork belly on top.  It was crispy on the outside and tender when you bit into it.  The vegetables and herbs that were mixed in were fresh and added the right balance of flavor and texture to the noodles.

They also serve Mochi Ice Cream for dessert!  It is one of our favorites.  The sweet rice dough covering the cool ice cream in the middle is a satisfying way to end a meal, in my book:-)

When we had our great gluten free noodles at SoSoBa in Flagstaff, Arizona, the menu identified items that were gluten free, vegan & vegetarian.  I just checked their website and it is no longer marked to show allergens.  Bummer.  Hope they still include that on the menus in the restaurants.  The location in Flagstaff is right downtown, making for a nice place to take a walk after your meal and check out the shops.

My 9 to 5… I am a meteorologist for the ABC station in Tampa. When I am at home, I spend a lot of time cooking and baking... always gluten free. Most of my recipes are allergy friendly and many are AIP, Vegan, Paleo and Keto friendly. From my kitchen to yours... cheers to eating great no matter what we must go without!

I just bought some Soba noodles (buckwheat, not rice) and hope to do some Asian dishes soon. Any recipes you’ve made for the family?

I love Soba noodles! Give my Peanut Dressing from my Thai Chopped Salad or serve the noodles with my Honey Ginger Stir Fry. Those are two of my family favorites!
