Yellowbelly Chicken has awesome allergy friendly and gluten free options. And OMG! Fried chicken & hush puppies that are gluten free??? Yes!!! And they are really, really good. I could have made a meal out of the hush puppies, they are that good. Since they have dedicated fryers, I didn't have any worries about cross contamination either. The fried chicken was fantastic. It tasted just like I remember it tasting like back in my wheat eating days. A crispy crust with juicy chicken inside. They serve white and dark meat on the bone, roasted chicken and fried boneless chicken tenders.
There are fresh veggie sides and smashed sweet potato fries that are yummy too. The sides and salads are hearty enough for a vegetarian meal and will cover most food allergens. Although I tasted several of the sides (and they were good), I was really focused on the chicken and the hush puppies though, I won’t lie.
Just a heads up- the mac and cheese is not gluten free. They did not have gluten free buns for their sandwiches when we ordered (but maybe they will in the future?).
