Almost everything on the menu is gluten free at Le Bistro in North Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Le Bistro is a French restaurant that didn’t plan to cater to the gluten free community. That is, until someone pointed out that many of their offerings were already gluten free. So they started to make a point of advertising to the gluten free community. I couldn't be happier to have found them!
There are so many delicious options that are allergy friendly or gluten free at Le Bistro. Shrimp or mushroom risotto, duck, steak, lobster and fish of the day of the day are just the start. The sauces are reduced over time to thicken them in the old French method, instead of adding flour. That's how they taste so incredibly rich without the gluten. The chef has some serious skills with flavor and technique. The food is prepared exceptionally well and is presented beautifully.
The Creme Brulee and Belgian Couverture Chocolate Mousse are a delicious way to finish your meal. I speak from experience, of course;-)
This is where we go for special dinners when we are in Ft. Lauderdale because we can always count on a great experience for everyone (whether they are gluten free, vegetarian, have food allergies or not). The restaurant is cozy and rather small and they are very attentive to your needs and willing to answer questions. I feel like I am a guest in their home each time we eat there.
