Pretzel Turtles
In my mind, Pretzel Turtles are the perfect “last minute” treat. A fantastic combination of chocolate, creamy caramel, salty pretzels and crunchy nuts. They aren’t gourmet or fancy in the slightest, but boy do they get gobbled up in a hurry!
Ridiculously Easy Pretzel Turtles!
If you can unwrap a Rolo and remove a hot baking tray from the oven, you can make these. Since I have celiac disease and can’t eat gluten, I use Snyder’s gluten free mini pretzels. I lay them out on a lined baking sheet. Then I top each pretzel with one Rolo. Pop the tray in the oven and in about 3 minutes, the chocolate becomes glossy. Remove them from the oven and right away, press the pecan halves into the chocolate and let them cool. That’s all there is to it!
Nut Free Pretzel Turtles & Other Ideas
If you aren’t a fan of nuts or happen to be allergic, feel free to skip the pecan and press another pretzels on top of the Rolo. You can get creative by topping with other candy, nuts or dried fruit if you’d like as well. I have also made these with mini Snicker’s in place of the Rolos with great success.

Pretzel Turtles
Ingredients
- 32 mini pretzels (I use Snyder's Gluten Free Mini Pretzels)
- 32 Rolos (A "share" sized bag is more than enough)
- 32 pecan halves (approximately 2 cups, with broken pieces leftover)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees and line 1 or 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Place 32 pretzels in a single layer on the baking sheet leaving a little room between each. Unwrap the Rolos and place one on top of each pretzel.
- Pop the tray(s) into the oven for about 3 minutes, or until you see that the chocolate has become glossy, but hasn’t melted into a puddle!
- Remove from the oven and immediately press pecan halves into the chocolates. Let cool until the chocolate becomes firm, then they are ready to enjoy! Leftovers (as if!) can be stored in a sealed container.
